Radio design in the 30's and 40's reflected a look that had a grace and style we now call art deco. Unfortunately, the beauty embodied in models by Fada, Zenith, Emerson, Addison, Sentinel, Crosley and others quickly disappeared late in the "modern fifties." This FADA Bullet is one of the rarest, since it has the one Octal tube base lineup with matching label, which means one of the original 1945 models.
The Fada Radio & Electric Co. was originally located in Long Island, NY. The Bullet radios, sold in a number of design and color variations, were introduced in 1945 and continued to be sold through 1947. They produced many other models as well. The "Bullets" sold for $19.95 and can be had today in prices ranging from $1000 to $8000, depending on condition. This one collector rates as "excellent condition" It is impossible to pick up a collector radio book and not find a "Fada Bullet" radio, as one of, if not the first, highest demand collector radio ever made.
